Music, the new mantra

CAN CHARTBUSTING, youthful music sell a film? After the success of films like "Jayam", "Kathal Kondein" and "Kaakha Kaakha", music has once again become the most important selling factor of a film. Said Saregama HMV's Ramaswamy: "There is a demand for peppy, youthful music. "Jayam" audio is a hit and that is one of the reasons why we have taken "Kurumbu" that has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the hottest young music director in the circuit."

The "Kurumbu" producers recently had a big bash at the audio launch of the film where all young stars like Sreekanth, Dhanush, Ravi and Sibi were present.

Said Mano Akkineni, producer of "Kurumbu": "If you have good music that attracts the youth, then selling a film with an all new star cast like Naresh and Nikitha will not be difficult." Mano also added that for the first time, Yuvan has done a remix of a song composed by his father Ilaiyaraja for a Rajnikanth film of the late 1970s!
