Swingers: celebrating the spirit of contemporary dance

CLEAR THE cobwebs of your mind, throw open the windows, slip on your dancing shoes, and simply jive. This is what Swingers, the place for international style of dance, hopes to inspire everyone to do.

This dance company and studio, that celebrates the spirit of contemporary dance in all its forms, offers a range of courses to suit different tastes and needs. So if are inclined to let your hair down and shake a leg, enrol yourself into one of the dance courses that Swingers is offering. Started by Prasanna Kumar, the dance studio offers coaching in several dance forms. Mr. Kumar is himself trained in the best dance studios, including the Edge Performing Arts Centre, California, Broadway Dance Centre, New York, and Steps on Broadway, New York.

Right from hip-hip (a style that is currently sweeping America), Cuba salsa, to disco funk, you can be sure to become a dancing sensation in a matter of a few weeks at Swingers. The dance studio is affiliated to the Broadway Dance Center, New York, and has centres in Chennai and Hyderabad.

It also offers a one-year course in "authentic dance styles". The dance programmes are divided into two groups — five to 15 years and 12 to 30 years. Dial 5203900/31850808 for details.
