A model prescription
WHEN KAYA Skin Clinic in New Delhi - offering cosmetic dermatology services - decided to rope in a model with both looks and intellect to be its ambassadress, they didn't have to think too hard. The choice fell on Aditi Govitrikar, the model and actress who is also a qualified doctor.
At the inauguration of the clinic this past week, she exuded sense and sensuality.
It was by a sheer coincidence, she recalled, that she stumbled upon impresario Maureen Wadia. This paved the way for the Gladrags title. Did this fashion crown become her fast track to the Mrs. World title? "Yes it did."
The beauty crown in turn gave a fillip to her modelling career. "Yes. I have modelled for a host of products, including the Coke advertisement with actor Hrithik Roshan."
She is not enamoured of roles requiring dancing around trees or unnecessary exposure. "I cannot do what Mallika Sherawat did in `Khwahish'," she remarks.
However, she has no compunctions in playing a village belle. But it should be a meaningful role. "I did a negative role in `Dhund', a glamorous one in `16 December' and a beauty queen in `Baaz'. I enjoy doing different kinds of roles."
Aditi says that in July she will be heading for Cape Town to shoot for a film about which she doesn't want to reveal much.
A thorough professional - for whom motherhood doesn't get in the way of career - Aditi has come to be a role model for aspiring actresses. "The Hindi film industry will take some time to accept actresses who are mothers. I have a three-year-old daughter, but this doesn't prevent me from working on assignments."
It looks like Kaya clients can expect to get beauty tips from this model mum who says she wants to enhance her medical qualifications with a course in cosmetology. "Yes. I have undergone the wonderful Kaya experience," she says, of the clinic that offers services like skin-brightening, glow, peels and laser hair reduction.
