`King' Khan is back

AFTER A long time, a Hindi film "Chalte Chalte" has opened well in Chennai and Coimbatore grossing Rs. 12.8 lakhs from three prints in its opening weekend (Friday to Sunday). It is a phenomenal opening, which proves that Shah Rukh Khan's magic still works in Tamil Nadu. Nothing can keep our `King' Khan down, not even a nagging back pain, which put him on an operation table last February in a London hospital.

The premiere of "Chalte Chalte" had to be cancelled in the last minute as its hero SRK, as he likes to be called, is on a month-long rest and post-surgery rehabilitation programme under a team of physiotherapists. Another partner of Dreamz Unlimited, Juhi Chawla too was in hospital awaiting her second baby.

This Aziz Mirza-directed film has taken a fantastic opening worldwide thanks to the screen presence of its charismatic hero.

The film carries mixed reports, as the story is wafer-thin and is all about love, marriage, separation and re-union and the second half is a cross between "Raja Hindustani" and "Saathiya". Rani Mukherji has stolen the show with her spontaneity and vivacity. Added to that Manish Malhotra the fashion guru has made Rani look gorgeous in the avant-garde striped skirts and stylish knee-high boots.
