Mobile phones

THE SANCTION of mobile phones to police officers by the Government was more by virtue of their posting, rather than their cadre.

Mobile phones were sanctioned for all range DIGs and SPs.

However, officers of the same cadre working in the Commissionerates, including the Commissioners of Police, have not been given the facility. Since effective communication is the aim, it will be appropriate if other officers in the rank of DIGs and SPs, at least those serving in the Commissionerates, are also considered for the free mobile phones.
