Forum for the Muse
IT'S A forum for poets and all those who have a passion for poetry. The book, `Kavithaykku Oridam' (space for poetry) to be released by the noted poet, Ayyappa Panicker, at Lenin Balavadi, here on Saturday, is virtually a forum for those who have a decisive say in contemporary Malayalam poetry.
The publishers include Anvar Ali, Anita Thampi and V.Vinaya Kumar, young writers of repute. The publishers describe the book as an earnest attempt of a host of young poets who made their presence felt in the realm of Malayalam poetry during the Nineties. The book, to be published once in four months, aims to provide space for modern poets to give vent to their feelings and gain exposure.
The publishers have solicited the participation of everyone thinking in similar lines in the venture.
The publishers point out that the aim behind the venture is that wherever the book reaches, it should trigger healthy discussions on poetry and allied subjects.
The first edition comprises 26 poems from a total of 19 poets. English poems too have been included.
The release would be followed by an open discussion on modern poetry.
Noted writers and connoisseurs of poetry including Sugatha Kumari, Puthussery Ramachandran, B. Rajeevan, K.P.Kumaran, N.Sukumaran, Rosemary and Chandramathi would enliven the discussion.
