Ghalib’s ghazal

“Hazaaron Khwahishain,” a Kathak presentation by Hari and Chethana and their disciples from Nupur Performing Art Centre, Bangalore, was based on Mirza Ghalib’s ghazals and not on Bahadur Shah Zafar’s as reported in the article, “Romance of Rain, Dazzle of Peacock,” (August 1) by Rupa Srikanth. Adds Hari: The piece, translated by Iswar, …, was conceived by Usha Venkateswaran. Choreography was by Chethna and Hari who also performed along with Shirisha, Ashwathi Nair, Karthika, Sneha and Varsha. Lighting was by Sri. Nagaraj.
