Centenary celebrations
Sri Krishna Gana Sabha is celebrating the Janma Nakshathram day of Dr. Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer in his Birth Centenary on July 30 at 6.00 p.m.
The function will be presided over by S. Balasubramanian, chairman, City Union Bank and A. Natarajan, Seetha Rajan, Suguna Purushothaman and Shankar Venkataraman will speak.
The function will be followed by a special concert by disciple Seetha Rajan. The programme is open to public. For more details contact 28140806.
Gokulashtami series
The Sabha is also honouring Hyderabad Sisters (Lalitha and Haripriya) with the title of ‘Sangeetha Choodamani’ and Parasala Ponnammal with the title of ‘Aacharya Choodamani’ in the 53rd Gokulashtami Sangeetha Utsavam to be inaugurated on August 2 by B. K. Krishnaraja Vanavarayar, chairman, Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan, Coimbatore Kendra, and this Utsavam is dedicated to Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer in his birth centenary year.
The utsavam is spread over a period of three months with concerts of accredited musicians as well as upcoming merit worthy artistes.
