Jewellery and handloom fair



EXQUISITE: Idols of Ganesha

A contemporary jewellery, handloom and handicrafts exhibition is on at the Guild of Service, Casamajor Road, Egmore, till September 18 between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Items include precious and semi-precious stones, silver, one-gram gold and silver plated jewellery, garnet, amethyst and temple jewellery are on display.

The handicraft section has black metal products, flower pots, deities like Ganesha, Lakshmi and Saraswathi, wood carvings, fruit bowels, corner stand and many other items, brought from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Kashmir and other places.

Handloom products like Jaipur bedsheets, Rajasthan mirror-worked garments, Lucknow chickan-work salwars, Orissa sarees, and Venkatagiri sarees from Andhra are on sale. Rajasthani paintings on canvas, cotton and silk and Thanjavur paintings are also on display.
