Autorickshaw forcibly taken away from driver

BANGALORE JUNE 12. Three anti-social elements assaulted an autorickshaw driver and drove away with the vehicle in Girinagar Police limits on Wednesday. Police said the three got into Krishna Murthy's autorickshaw at Nagarbhavi Circle at 7.30 p.m. and asked him to drop them at Rajarajeshwarinagar.

On reaching a service road between Veerabhadranagar and Eranna Gudda, they assaulted Krishna Murthy, pushed him out of the autorickshaw and sped away with it. Following a complaint by Krishna Murthy, Girinagar Police have registered a case of robbery. Investigation is on.

Killed in mishaps

Two persons were killed on the spot and six injured, one of them seriously, when a KSRTC bus dashed against the goods autorickshaw in which they were travelling on Sarjapura Road on Thursday.

While the bus was on its way to Bangalore from Sarjapur, the occupants of the autorickshaw were returning to Bagalur after unloading vegetables at the Madivala market. The accident took place near Bommasandra Circle at 7 a.m., police said.

One of the dead has been identified as Munivenkatappa (48). The injured were admitted to hospital in Bangalore. Police have registered a case.

In another incident, Abdul Rahim (42) of Laljinagar, suffered severe injuries after a lorry hit his scooter on Hosur Road in Wilson Garden Police limits at 6.20 p.m. on Wednesday. He died on way to hospital. Audugodi Traffic Police have seized the lorry.

Arrested

The City Crime Branch officials have arrested Prashanth Kumar, alias Ajith Kumar, (26) of Ganganagar who allegedly created fake credit cards of multinational and national banks and cheated them. Police have recovered gold ornaments and household goods worth Rs.3 lakhs from the arrested. Search is on for the associates of Kumar.
