Tamil Nadu
By R. Ilangovan
A senior official at the dam told The Hindu today that the level stood 26.10 feet (full level 120 feet) as against of 36.63 feet this day last year. The dam could not be opened in June last too. Today's storage was 60.62 tmcft at 12 noon with a inflow of 567 cusecs, which, according to the official, was `quite insignificant.' This inflow could be realised thanks to rains in the catchment areas of the Palar and the Chinnar last night. The outflow remained nil. The fears of losing the kuruvai crop for the second year in succession looms large as there are no hopes of early release of water.
