New housing scheme launched

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI JUNE 12. The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has decided to launch a new housing scheme - "Jasola Janta Tenement Housing Scheme 2003'' -- where applications will be invited only from the wait-listed registrants of the DDA's Janta Housing Registration Scheme 1996 for allotment of one room tenements in Jasola in South Delhi.

The scheme will open on June 23 and close on July 22 where all normal eligibility conditions as per the Janta Housing Registration Scheme 1996, including reservations, will be applicable in the new scheme.

About 2005 built flats are available under the scheme which are four-storeyed flats constructed on group housing pattern. The area of a flat including common portion is in the range of 20 to 24 sq. mts. All the flats are ready for occupation with all the basic amenities.

The DDA has fixed Rs.20,000 as the registration amount while the tentative cost of a flat will be from Rs.1.74 lakhs to Rs.2.10 lakhs exclusive of service charges. The variation in the cost is due to variation in the plinth area of the flat. Both option of cash down and hire purchase will be given and depend on the presence of applicants.

The flats will be on freehold basis for cash down allottees whereas for hire purchase allottees, it will be on leasehold basis and after full payment of conveyance deed in such cases will be executed in the name of the allottee as per the prescribed procedure.

The allottee will be given possession after completion of all formalities, payment of dues and submission of all relevant documents. The facility of loan by way of mortgaging of flat through listed institutions without prior approval of the DDA has also been provided.

A brochure containing details of mode of allotment, cost and all the final details will soon be made available at Vikas Sadan and also with the nominated branches of various banks like HDFC, IDBI, UTI, Central Bank of India and State Bank of India at Vikas Sadan.
