SW monsoon may hit State by week-end

Hyderabad June 12. Andhra Pradesh was today dewarned of a heatwave with a near-monsoon situation prevailing in the State driving out the remnants of the severe summer.

The State Met office did not renew the heatwave warning to any place with mercury levels coming down all over.

The Met Office said the South West monsoon progressed further and maintained that it might enter the State by the week-end.

During the 24-hour period ended this morning, Vikarabad recorded a rainfall of 4 cm, Guntur, Parigi, Macherla 3 cm each, Dindigal Airport, Madhira, Manthani, Srisailam, Nagarjunasagar dam and Podili each 2 cm and Hakimpet, Dowlaiswaram, Rajahmundry, Ibrahimpatnam and Tanuku each 1 cm.
