Indian women concede a dozen to China

BANGKOK JUNE 12. Defending champion North Korea defeated host Thailand 14-0 with two players scoring four goals each Thursday in a Group A match of the Asian Football Confederation Women's Championship.

In another Group A match, South Korea beat Singapore 4-0 to stay on top of the group with nine points from three games.

Meanwhile, after its good show against Uzbekistan, India had no answer to China's might and went down 0-12 on Wednesday.

India just could not match the speed and guile of the rival. Thirty-year-old Sun Wen, who, in 1999, was the first female player to be nominated for the AFC Player of the Year award, scored six times in the 22nd, 62nd, 66th, 70th, 87th and 90th minutes.

Bai Jie helped out with four, in the 9th, 20th, 26th and 74th minutes. Liu Ying, in the 20th minute and substitute Fan Yunjie at the turn of the first hour completed the scorers list.
