CBI probe into death of poetess urged

LUCKNOW MAY 10. The Samajwadi Party today urged the Uttar Pradesh, Governor, Vishnu Kant Shastri, to order a CBI enquiry into the murder of a Lucknow poetess, Madhumita Shukla, at her Paper Mill Colony residence here on Friday and the registration of a case of murder against a Bahujan Samaj Party Minister of State whose name had figured among the "suspects''.

According to police, the telephone diary of the victim found at her residence had showed her closeness to a number of influential persons, including the Minister, and two local journalists.
