Gayle, who was omitted from the West Indies side for the first two Tests against the Australians, returns to the 14-member squad to face the Steve Waugh's side in the third Test, starting on Thursday. On Saturday, Gayle hit 129 to help the Vice Chancellor's XI to a first innings total of 290. The scores: UWI Vice Chancellor's XI 290 (Chris Gayle 129, Jason Haynes 58; Stuart MacGill five for 40, Brad Hogg three for 94) vs. Australia 61 for no loss (Justin Langer 28 batting, Jimmy Maher 28 batting).
