Intermediate results by May 10

NANDYAL APRIL 14. The Minister for Higher Education, N. Md. Farooq, has said that the intermediate examination results will be published by May 10. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, he said the evaluation of answer sheets was complete in the case of first year and 31 per cent was completed for the second year.

The paper evaluation would be completed by April 25. A total of 6.81 lakh students appeared for the first year exam and 6.10 lakh students for the second year. Evaluation had been going on at 23 centres.

On the lecturers transfer policy, the Minister said unions were demanding counselling system while the Chief Minister favoured performance indicators-based transfers. A suitable decision would be taken after consultation. Mr. Farooq said 1,000 lecturer vacancies existed in 176 Government-run degree colleges and 2,200 posts in junior colleges.
