Pondicherry
By Our Staff Reporter
In a communication here yesterday, Mr. Narayanasamy said the recent agitations and the spate of arrests of leaders by the Government indicated that development process had taken a backseat. Almost all sections of students, farmers and government staff were being antagonised. Opposition members were denied opportunity to air the grievances of the people in the Assembly. Even if the members attempted to exercise their democratic right they were thrown out of the House. The Chief Minister was making disparaging comments against the Congress, the DMK and the left parties. Mr. Narayanasamy appealed to Ms. Jayalalithaa to release all those arrested. He accused the BJP of continuing its ties with the DMK at the Centre and hobnobbing with the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu at the State-level.
