Kanda takes over as Chief Secretary

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD MARCH 31. Mohan Kanda took over as Chief Secretary to the Government from Sathi Nair, who retired on superannuation, at the Secretariat on Monday.

Mr. Kanda signed the first file minutes after he assumed office at 4.36 p.m. The senior bureaucrat visited Yadagirigutta shrine in the morning where he offered his hair.

After the formal takeover, Mr. Kanda and Mrs. Nair met the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, in his chambers. Mr. Naidu wished Mr. Kanda well and the latter reciprocated by thanking for the opportunity given to him.

Mr. Naidu praised Mrs. Nair for creating a good impact during her short tenure in office. She said she drew inspiration from Mr. Naidu for his untiring work.
