Advocate assaulted

By Our Staff Reporter

CHENNAI JAN. 5. A 35-year-old advocate was attacked by a gang on Purasawalkam High Road early on Sunday. The police arrested four members of the gang.

Nagendran (35), a lawyer practising at the High Court, was returning home with his friend Thavasi by a vehicle at around 3-30 a.m. The members, numbering more than 10, in an inebriated condition, stopped the advocate's vehicle and started attacking him with bottles. Mr. Nagendran and Mr. Thavasi ran from the place leaving behind the vehicle. They hid themselves in two different houses. The members entered a house. When they could not find them, they vent their ire by damaging the showcase in the house. They also damaged a van parked on the road.

The police nabbed four persons, who were identified as Vipin, Hari, Ameen and Yadav Krishnan of the same area.
