"We will abide by any decision taken by the BCI in the matter, as it is the Constitutional entity entrusted with the responsibility of enforcing discipline among the advocate community," the Law Association president, Rajendra Prasad, said. "Members of the Madras High Court Advocates Association will abstain from court proceedings even if the BCI withdraws the boycott call, for we demand expeditious filling up of the long-pending vacancies in the Madras High Court also," the association president, S. Prabakaran, told presspersons. The Madras Bar Association president, R. Gandhi, and the Woman Lawyers Association president, K. Santhakumari, also confirmed participation of their respective organisations in the boycott. The BCI's nationwide boycott call was in protest against certain ``controversial'' amendments introduced in the Legal Services Authority Act.
