HYDERABAD DEC. 17. Dola Banerjee had a dream outing being part of the member of the Jharkhand team which won the women's team gold and then clinching the honours in the FITA round individual event in the archery competitions which concluded at the Saroornagar Sports Complex here today.

In the morning session, Dola combined with Bansaralin Dhar, Keiengunuo Theuno and Jhanu Hansda to steer her team to gold. Uttar Pradesh, comprising Sumangala, Varsha, Mandavi and Sushma, was content with silver while, Beena Uniyal, Chetna Bhatiya, Pushpalata and Sunaina Sharma of Delhi took bronze.

There was an element of avoidable tension in the men's competition in Andhra camp. The host, leading by seven points at the end of the second round, had the misfortune of seeing Seetharamudu, who won the senior National gold in Hyderabad recently, loose his composure in the third round just as he was aiming for the target. Consequently, he missed and denied what looked a certain gold for the host in the team event at that particular time.

It was the Services team comprising Vishwash, Guruchanran Besra, Tarundeep Rai and Harsh Ch. Kerai which won the gold eventually with 101 points, just two more points than what the host got.

In the afternoon session, Andhra Pradesh `import' Shivnath Nagesia from Jharkhand did the home team proud by winning the men's individual gold in FITA round with a score of 108 followed by Harish Ch. Kera (SSCB - 101) and Sitharamudu (AP) in that order.

The results:

Finals: FITA round: Men: Team event: 1. Services 239 pts., 2. Andhra Pradesh 234 pts., 3. Jharkhand 230 pts. Individual: Shivnath Nagesia (AP) 103 pts., 2. Harish Ch.Kera (SSCB) 101 pts., 3. Sitharamudu (AP).

Women: Team event: 1. Jharkhand 232 pts., 2. Uttar Pradesh 218 pts., 3. Delhi 196 pts. Individual: 1. Dola Banerjee (Jharkhand) 108 pts., 2. Bhagyabati Chanu (Manipur) 104 pts., 3. Bansaralin Dhar (Jharkhand) 104 pts.
