Karnataka-Bangalore
By Our Staff Reporter
That is what S. Gautam did here on Monday in the presence of presspersons. His aim is to create a record and secure a place in the Guinness Book of World Records. Mr. Gautham (26), who is a faculty at a computer institute in Bangalore and holds a Diploma in Computer Applications, keyed in for 30 minutes on a computer keyboard that was placed on top of a two-litre Pepsi bottle having a radius of one inch. Mr. Gautham keyed in 2,012 words in 30 minutes with 98 per cent accuracy at a speed of 68 words per minute. "I wanted to do something different. Many people have tried to create records in keying in on a computer keyboard, or typing on a manual or electronic typewriter. But no one explored the idea of creating a record in keying by balancing the keyboard on a bottle. That is why I decided it would be a good idea," he said. He said that he had sought permission from the Pepsi company for his feat. He had been practising this for two years, he added.
