New Delhi
By Our Staff Reporter
According to the police, the victim lodged a complaint with the Delhi Cantonment police on Monday evening that she used to go to her neighbour Nirmala's house to receive calls from her husband, who was posted in Jammu and Kashmir. The complaint further stated that on April 7, Nirmala told her that her husband had called up from Jammu and Kashmir and asked her to receive the call. As she walked into Nirmala's house, Nirmala locked the door behind her. Two persons -- identified as Sepoy Chandrashekhar and Desraj -- were already present in the room. The two allegedly threatened her with knives and criminally assaulted her. They warned her of dire consequences if she reported the matter to anybody. About eight months after the incident, the victim mustered up the courage to report the matter to the police. Preliminary investigations revealed that Sepoy Chandrashekhar was on guard duty of 153 Medium Regiment on that day. Desraj is Nirmala's nephew. The Delhi Cantonment police have registered a case and arrested Nirmala. The District Intelligence Unit is conducting further investigations and efforts are on to trace Chandrashekhar and Desraj. Chandrashekhar is presently posted at Udhampur in Jammu and Kashmir.
