The awards are to be presented at a programme on a suitable occasion. In a press release, the director of Youth Services said at the State-level the best CMEY unit would be awarded Rs. 50,000, a memento and a certificate, while those the best in social service receive Rs. 5,000 (both for male and female). At the district-level awards, three prizes of Rs. 25,000, Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 15,000 are to be given to the best CMEY unit. The best young entrepreneur and the best in social services (both male and female) would receive Rs. 5,000 each. The selection for the State-level awards would be made by a committee headed by the Minister for CMEY and Sports, as chairman, and officials and non-officials as members. The district-level selection committee will be headed by the Collector, as chairman, with the DRDA project director, the PRO, representatives of the NSS, NGOs and local industries, as members. The nominations are to be submitted to the district youth welfare officer. According to the release, the youth to be considered for the awards should be in 15-35 age group, achieved excellence in the field during the year for which the awards are to be given. The impact of excellence should be identifiable and should not have been conferred such award earlier by the State/Central government. Employees of the State/Central Government are not eligible. The service rendered should be on voluntary basis. The CMEY group/unit to be considered for the award should be successful and of identifiable record.
