The district administration was advised to mobilise the remaining Rs. 15 lakhs from the local departments. Of the sanctioned amount, Rs. 6 lakhs has been indicated for drinking water facility, Rs. 10 lakhs for roads, Rs. 8 lakhs for statues, Rs. 10 lakhs for civil works and Rs. 7 lakhs for greenery. Work on drinking water facility and electricity will be taken up immediately. The administration laid a road on to the hill at a cost of Rs. 20 lakhs. Development of the hill solves the long-felt need of the residents of Kurnool town to have a picnic spot. The water pumping station, Kids World Park and Children's Park were often overcrowded on holidays killing the picnic spirit. People were travelling to Sunkesula barrage and Gajuladinne project for a holiday, which were far from the city. Meanwhile, the Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO), Nagarani, banned quarrying of gravel in the village limits of B. Tandrapadu, Dinnedevarapadu, Pasupula, Tadakanapalle, Dupadu and Jagannatham hill. She said besides action against the violators under the provisions of Mining Act, the vehicles used for transport of gravel would be seized.
