Seminar on supply chain management

By Our Special Correspondent

Bangalore Dec. 9. DHL Global Customer Logistics, a division of DHL Worldwide Express, a global leader of the international express industry, and the Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM) will bring together some of the best names in the industry at a seminar here on Tuesday.

The seminar "Global perspectives in supply chain management" is being held at the joint initiative of David Record (Head of DHL-India), one of the speakers, and IIMM. The seminar will be addressed by experts such as N.Ravichandran of IIM (Ahmedabad), Ravi Mani of DHL-Singapore, and Muthulingam Suresh, IBM Business Consulting.

Arvind Navadikar, President, IIMM, said: "In today's globalised business environment, there can be no ambiguity that an effective supply chain is the single largest contributor to any organisation's success and bottomline."

S.Raghunandan, Country Manager, DHL (India) said: "Logistics management is emerging as one of the fastest growing segments in the express industry. Shortened life cycles, increased competition, and heightened expectations from customers have forced many leading edge companies to move from physical logistic management towards specialised supply chain management."

The seminar will be held at Taj Residency from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
