`Khadgam' cut to size

HYDERABAD Dec. 9. The producers of the Telugu feature film, Khadgam, today removed five scenes from the movie as they were found to be objectionable and sectarian by the Government.

A committee of police officers suggested the cuts after watching the film. The DGP, P. Ramulu, in a press release today, stated that it came to his notice that some dialogues in the film were causing disaffection among certain section of society following which a committee of police officers was constituted to examine the film.

The director and the producer of the film agreed to delete the five scenes found objectionable by the committee. Meanwhile, the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) corporator, Amjedullah Khan, demanded the Government to totally ban the movie.

Mr. Khan said that they would launch a State-wide agitation from Tuesday to prohibit the film and gherao all the theatres exhibiting it.
