Avoiding heart attack

NEW DELHI DEC. 8. The head of Indian Medical Association's Delhi branch and executive vice-chairman of Delhi-based Heart Care Foundation of India, K.K. Aggarwal, has cautioned people that action should be taken before the appearance of manifestation of cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Aggarwal, who was delivering a lecture in a public seminar organised by the K.L. Chopra Body Mind Institute here today, Dr. Aggarwal suggested a number of measures through which risk of heart attack can be reduced like by quitting smoking, combining lifestyle modifications and "disease modifying drugs''.

Dr. Aggarwal said in Ayurveda, any preventive drug worked effectively which contained a combination of 30 to 40 ingredients. Balanced diet should combine a variety of vegetables and fruits, he added.
