'BJP failed to address people's problems'
By Our Staff Reporter
Jammu
Dec. 8.
The All India Trade Union Congress general secretary, Guru Das Gupta, said today that the BJP was using terrorism as an issue in the Gujarat elections for its vested electoral and selfish interests but in reality it had done nothing to address the root cause of it .
Talking to reporters here today, Mr. DasGupta said, "The Vajpayee Government had only made the "fight against terrorism" weak in the country and had increased a sense of alienation among the poor of the country by pursuing wrong polices in its rule. The Centre had failed to address the root cause of the problems of the people especially the downtrodden.
Criticising the Centre's economic policy he said, "in the last four or five years the terrorists had several times attacked religious temples but the BJP had attacked the economic temples of the country."
