Karnataka gets the better of TN

Tamil Nadu's Suresh is well short of his crease as Karnataka wicketkeeper Tilaknaidu runs him out in the Subbaiah Pillai trophy cricket tournament in Bangalore on Sunday.

BANGALORE Dec. 8. Defending champion Karnataka returned to winning ways at Tamil Nadu's expense in the South Zone Subbaiah Pillai Trophy tournament match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Sunday. In a match saddled with run outs and frayed emotions, Karnataka held its nerve and defeated Tamil Nadu by 29 runs.

In the other matches, T. Suman's 104 helped Hyderabad score a seven-wicket victory over Andhra, while Goa defeated Kerala by 89 runs.

Monday is a rest day.
