BEML enters semifinals

Mysore Dec. 8. Former champion outfit BEML, Mysore helped by some good batting by P. Ashok (75, 4x4, 4x6) and opener Murali Mohan (63, 6x4, 1x6) registered an exciting 14-run win over Saraswathipuram SC and entered the semifinals of the Sri M. Gopalaswami Memorial cricket tournament at the St. Philomena's College grounds here on Sunday.

In another quarterfinal, Mysore City Gymkhana registered a three-wicket win over RBNCC at Gangothri grounds.

The scores (quarterfinals): BEML, Mysore 249 for eight in 45 overs (Murali Mohan 63, C.K. Muralidharan 37, P. Ashok 75) bt Saraswathipuram SC 235 in 44.3 overs (Vijay R. Tiwari 40, S.P. Manjunath 43, B.N. Bharath 42, Chandan 30 n.o., Arun 32).

RBNCC 212 for nine in 45 overs (Pawan Kaushik 46, Arun Bafna 40, C. Sunil 36, H.S. Mahesh 28, S. Rohit three for 41) lost to Mysore City Gymkhana 215 for seven in 44.1 overs (S. Rohit 50, Amit Premkumar 44, K.B. Chandan 30, S. Prabhakar 28, Arun Bafna three for 24). Pre-quarterfinals: MUCSC 189 in 36.5 overs (S. Dhananjaya 60, N. Pradeep 25, Manjesh Reddy 28, Renukakumar three for 37) bt Sunny Side CC 159 in 33.3 overs (S. Sandeep 60, Cheluvaraj three for 35).
