The team would hold talks with the Revenue Minister, K.M. Mani, and the Chief Secretary, N. Chandrasekharan Nair, on Monday. The members would visit Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, and Ernakulam districts in the coming four days for assessment of the losses. Kerala had sought an assistance of Rs. 1,035 crores from the Centre for drought relief following the failure of South-West Monsoon. However, the Centre had sought more details from the State and the issue got delayed. Now, the team to assess the damage comes to the State ironically in the middle of North-East Monsoon.
