Gray for Indo-Pak. matches at neutral venues

LAHORE DEC. 8. The International Cricket Council (ICC) president, Malcolm Gray, has asked rivals Pakistan and India to consider resuming Test cricket matches at neutral venues.

``I think the cricket boards of Pakistan and India should consider this proposal,'' Mr. Gray said on Sunday, after attending meetings in Lahore. Mr. Gray's proposal came two days after the Pakistan President, Pervez Musharraf, told him that the country wanted to resume cricket ties with India. On Saturday, the Indian Sports Minister, Vikram Verma, rejected Gen. Musharraf's offer, accusing Pakistan of sponsoring terrorism. However, Mr. Gray played down Mr. Verma's rejection. ``What I think is that the proposal of the neutral venue is a good one,'' he said.
