Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
By Our Staff Reporter
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, the president of the Kerala NGO Association, Mangattu Rajendran, said the Association's main agenda was the restructuring of the civil service sector so that it is more simplified and people-friendly. He said that corruption and political interference in administrative matters were rampant in several Government departments like Local Government and Revenue and demanded that the Chief Minister take strict action instead of giving speeches about rooting out corruption. The Association will take out a procession from Museum junction on December 12, at 3 p.m., which will conclude at the Gandhi Park grounds, where Mr. Karunakaran will inaugurate a public meeting. The Irrigation Minister, T. M. Jacob, and the Tourism Minister, K. V. Thomas, will also take part in the meeting. The representatives' meeting on December 13, at Tagore theatre will be inaugurated by the AICC general secretary, Vayalar Ravi. The women's meet will be inaugurated by the chairperson of State Women's Commission, M. Kamalam.
