BHEL set to achieve another milestone

TIRUCHI DEC. 5. The Tiruchi unit of the BHEL will be achieving yet another milestone when the country's first 500 MWe nuclear steam generator, indigenously designed and manufactured by it, will roll out of its premises here on December 7.

A BHEL press release issued here today said this steam generator was manufactured for the first 500 MWe Nuclear Power Plant being installed by the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) at Tarapur.

The chairman-cum-managing director of the NPCIL and member of the Atomic Energy Commission, V. K. Chaturvedi, will flag-off the nuclear steam generator.
