Shobhana's expulsion: decision tomorrow

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DEC. 5. The KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan, today said that the final decision on the party Disciplinary Action Committee's recommendation on the expulsion of the controversial MLA, Shobhana George, from the primary membership of the party, would be announced by Saturday.

Mr. Muraleedharan told The Hindu that he had held discussions with the Chief Minister, A. K. Antony, the veteran leader, K. Karunakaran, and the UDF convener, Oommen Chandy. He said he would also hold telephonic discussions with Ambika Soni, AICC general secretary in-charge of Kerala, before deciding on the issue.

According to reliable sources, Mr. Muraleedharan is for implementing the DAC's recommendation.

He has little option before him other than implementing the recommendation, especially in view of the hard position taken by the party high command.
