Two special trains to clear winter rush

VISAKHAPATNAM DEC. 5. The South Eastern Railway is operating two weekly special trains to clear the winter rush of passengers during December-January.

According to a Waltair Division press release, one special train would run between Howrah-Chennai, and the other between Howrah-Bangalore.

The Howrah-Chennai special would leave Howrah every Wednesday at 3.25 p.m. on December 18 and 25 and January 1, 8 and 15, passing

through Vizag on Thursdays at 6.30 a.m., and leave Chennai every Friday at 8.30 a.m. on December 20 and 27 and January 3, 10 and 17, passing through Vizag the same day at 9.30 p.m.

The trains would have halts at Kharagpur, Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Palasa, Visakhapatnam, Rajahmundry, Eluru, Vijayawada, Ongole, Nellore and Gudur. The trains would have AC, sleeper class and general accommodation.

The special train between Howrah-Bangalore would leave Howrah every Thursday at 8.05 p.m. on December 19 and 26 and January 2, 9 and 16, passing through Vizag on Fridays at 11.20 a.m., and leave Banglore every Saturday at 8.20 p.m. on December 21 and 28 and January 4, 11 and 18, touching Vizag at 8.35 p.m. on Sundays. The train would have halts at Kharagpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur Road, Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Khurda Road, Balugoan, Berhampur, Palasa, Srikakulam Road, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatanam, Rajahmundry, Vijayawada, Gudur, Renigunta, Katpadi, Jolarpettai and Bangarepet.
