Special police picketing was intensified on all the four sides of the temple complex, in addition to the mobile police parties comprising the local police. Frisking was made mandatory for all devotees entering the temple complex and the pilgrims were checked thrice at three different points, before entering the temple complex. Special police parties were deployed at all the roads leading to Tirumala, including he footpath, Sri Vari Mettu and Dharmagiri areas. Special teams were also engaged on the footpath and roads leading to the adjoining forests. Additional special protection forces were engaged at the Alipiri, Tirupati and Tirumala G.N.C. toll gates and all the vehicles motoring up the holy hills are being thoroughly checked. All the entrances at all the corners of the four mada streets were seized, as a precautionary measure, to check sneaking in of any unauthorised vehicles. Officials of other TTD departments were pressed on special duties on Thursday night and Friday, for two days. Road blocks and iron barricades were erected at several places to regulate the pilgrim traffic. Senior vigilance officials along with special teams were posted at all vital points including the areas with massive constructions.
