Bihar lost four wickets by the 17th over, but a fine partnership of 129 between No. 3 Sikander Hayat and No. 6. Rohit Singh saw the qualifier from East reach 288 runs. Hayat made 81 with eleven hits to the fence while Rohit struck 13 fours to make 91. Lower-order batsman S.P. Gautam made 50. For Karnataka, new ball bowlers Imran Khan and A.G. Deepak took three and four wickets respectively. In reply, Karnataka made 2 for the loss of Leo Daniel's wicket. The scores: Bihar 288 (S. Hayat 81, Rohit Singh 91, S.P. Gautam 50, Imran Khan three for 89, A.G. Deepak four for 28) vs Karnataka 2 for one.
