Sahitya Akademi quiz competition

THRISSUR DEC. 5. The Kerala Sahitya Akademi will organise a quiz competition for State college students on December 18 in connection with the national book festival here from December 11 to 20.

According to a release by the Akademi secretary, P. V. Krishnan Nair, two persons each from a college can participate in the quiz competition.

Those wishing to participate in the competition should apply with demand draft (DD) of Rs. 100 as entrance fees along with attested copies of Principals of respective colleges at the Akademi office before December 16.

The application cover should be superscribed as `Literature Quiz Competitions'. DD should be taken in the name of `secretary, Kerala Sahitya Akademi'. The topic would be `Malayalam literature--Culture, Indian Literature'.

The applications should be addressed to secretary, Kerala Sahitya Akademi, Thrissur--20.

Scholarship: The Akademi has invited applications from children of poor writer for its higher education fund for the academic year 2002-03. The scholarships would be given to students of Plus-Two and above. The Akademi will select taking into consideration the contributions made by students' parent\parents to Malayalam language and literature, annual income of parents and education standard of students.

Those filled in applications should reach the Akademi before January 10, 2003. The criteria for considering the financial status of the applicants would be the income certificate issued by village officer\tahsildar of the respective places.

Those who want the prescribed forms and other details should apply with self-addressed envelope pasted with Rs. 5 stamp to the secretary, Kerala Sahitya Akademi, Thrissur--680020.
