This is the first time in the last 500 years that the Latin Catholic community, currently about 20-lakh strong, is holding a State-wide rally outside of the diocesan and parish-based organisations. The chairman of the society, Joseph Stanley, claimed that about one lakh people from all over the State will participate in the rally that will start at 3 p.m. from the Jawaharlal International Stadium, Kaloor, and converge on the Marine Drive. The public meeting will be inaugurated by the former Chief Minister, K. Karunakaran. Bishop Susaipakiam will address the gathering.
