Epson launches printer for small offices

BANGALORE Dec. 5. Epson has introduced the Epson EPL 5900L targeting the small office and home segment. This printer aims to significantly reduce the total cost of ownership to this segment with the cartridge containing enough toner to last 6,000 sheets of paper, while the photoconductor unit will last for 20,000 sheets. The company also launched its Epson Stylus Photo 830 for entry-level and professional photographers.

Product enhancement

Bangalore-based Enterprise Development Centre has helped the Microsoft Business Solution, a Microsoft unit, to significantly enhance Great Plains which provides SMEs with computing capabilities for enterprise resource management. Although Great Plains Release 7.0 is not available in India, the enhancement developed by EDC is for the European, West Asia, and African markets.

Deal signed

Bangalore-based Symmetric Technologies Private Ltd. has signed up with Adroit Technologies, South Africa, as part of the strategy to provide integrated data acquisition solutions in the Indian market.

The five-year contract will enable Symmetric to provide solutions for data acquisition, real time solutions in process control, manufacturing, defence, and infrastructure segments.
