Even as Bengal expectedly claimed the cadet boys and sub-junior girls titles, Maharashtra `A' capped a splendid run in the sub-junior boys section. Maharashtra defeated Petroleum Sports Promotion Board Academy 3-2 in the semifinal before taking care of Bengal. The bigger surprise of the day was the 3-2 triumph of host Haryana over firm favourite Bengal. Much to the delight of the crowd, Suman pulled off both her singles before Rashu won the deciding match. The results (Team championships): Cadet boys (final): Bengal bt Tamil Nadu 3-1 (S. Kar bt E. Prabhakaran 11-9, 6-11, 11-4, 11-9; S. Das lost to G. Sathivan 7-11, 6-11, 6-11; P. Bose bt Nitin Thiruvernaged 11-5, 11-5, 11-9; S. Das bt E. Prabhakaran 11-5, 12-10, 11-5. Cadet girls (final): Haryana bt Bengal 3-2 (Suman bt M. Mukherjee 11-6, 11-9, 11-8; Rashu lost to S. Ghosh 11-6, 6-11, 8-11, 6-11; Neha lost to G. Nag 9-11, 12-10, 10-12, 6-11; Suman bt S. Ghosh 11-9, 6-11, 13-11, 14-12; Rashu bt M. Mukherjee 11-4, 11-7, 11-5).
