Reacting sharply to Ms. Gandhi's remark that the BJP was trying to regain power in Gujarat by creating a ``communal divide'' and ``creating a terror syndrome among the voters'', he alleged that the ``the sin of dividing the country can be attributed to the Congress.'' ``The Congress is responsible for all the problems faced by the country today, be it the problem of terrorism or corruption. Then the Congress can be rightly called the mother of terrorism and corruption,'' he said. ``Her speech has surprised everyone here. It is ulta chor kotwal ko dante (the thief blaming the cop),'' Mr. Modi said referring to Ms. Gandhi's speech in election meetings on Tuesday when she accused Mr. Modi and the Vajpayee Government of ``terrorising voters'' in Gujarat. Mr. Modi further alleged that the Congress had ganged up with anti-Gujarati elements to defame the State. Addressing public meetings during the eleventh leg of his `Gaurav yatra' at various places, he described the Congress as a ``weak party.'' He highlighted the efforts made by the BJP Government and the people of Kutch to rebuild the quake-damaged district. The second leg of the BJP's high-voltage campaign in Gujarat will begin tomorrow with several senior leaders, including the party chief, M . Venkaiah Naidu, addressing meetings at several places. The Prime Minister, Atal Behari Vajpayee, will visit the State on December 7 and 9 to address meetings at Jamnagar, Vadodara, Ahmedabad and Surat. PTI
