Demolition begins for road-widening

HYDERABAD May 17. The Town Planning wing of the MCH, South Zone, began demolition work to widen the Charminar-Falaknuma Road to 80 feet, on Saturday.

According to K. Srinivas Rao, City Planner, who is supervising the work, demolition of shops would be taken up next week.

He said of the 368 properties to be demolished, 101 had already been pulled down about 10 years ago. Of the balance 268 properties, a survey involving 180 is being taken up by the Town Planning wing. A new slip road is proposed to be laid behind the Aliabad Sarai as part of the road development plan.
