Australia 109 for two

Kingston (Jamaica) May 17. Australia, put into bat by West Indian skipper Brian Lara, had made 109 for two wickets after 22 overs in the opening one-day cricket international against the West Indies at Sabina Park here on Saturday. The batsmen dismissed were openers Adam Gilchrist (21) and Matthew Hayden (7).

Captain Ricky Ponting with 46 and Darren Lehmann with 24 were at the crease.

The West Indians, looking to carry on the momentum from their historic three-wicket victory over the Australians in the fourth Antigua Test, named three ODI debutants, Devon Smith, Omari Banks and Carlton Baugh.

Ricky Ponting's World Cup champion side, which is putting on the line its 17-match unbeaten run, has rested fast bowler Jason Gillespie from the opening match of the seven-match series.

Australian selectors made one change to the team which won the World Cup final in Johannesburg in March, replacing injured batsman Damien Martyn with all-rounder Ian Harvey.
