Actress' father gets bail

MUMBAI May 17. A Sessions Judge here today granted provisional anticipatory bail to the film actress Shilpa Shetty's father, Surendra Shetty, in an extortion case registered against him in Surat, Gujarat.

The judge, P.V. Bavkar, ordered Mr. Shetty to appear before the Sessions Judge of Surat on or before May 28 next. In the event of Mr. Shetty's arrest, he may be released on bail for Rs. 20,000 with one surety for Rs. 40,000.
