Minor fire in train

Morena May 17. With the devastating fire in the Frontier Mail on Thursday fresh in their minds, passengers of the Nizamuddin-Jabalpur Mahakoshal Express made a hurried exit from the train last night after a minor fire broke out in one of its coaches near Jajo station, about 50 km from here.

The Central Railway authorities today said a short-circuit caused the fire causing a gush of smoke in the S-6 coach of the train.

The panic-stricken passengers ran out of the bogies and the train was emptied in a couple of minutes, they said, adding that there were no casualties.

Later, the train continued on its onward journey after the technical staff rectified the fault. — PTI
