CLP leader suffers mild sun stroke

By Our Staff Reporter

ELURU MAY 17. The Congress Legislature Party leader, Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy, who is on a marathon `Prajaprasthanam,' has suffered a mild sun stroke, accompanied by amoebiasis, during his programme in West Godavari district.

On the last day of his padayatra in the district on Saturday Dr. Reddy suspended his trekking for a while and consulted a team of Government doctors, accompanying him, near Kapavaram in Kovur mandal. He told the doctors that he suffered severe pain in the abdomen and subsequently had a thorough medical check-up in the ambulance. Doctors administered him various drugs. The drugs were prescribed by the doctors as per the suggestion by the CLP leader, who is also a doctor.

Sumanta Kumar of the Government District Headquarters Hospital here, who headed the team of physicians, said he was also suffering from dehydration. He said certain problems associated with water and food consumed by Dr. Reddy during the padayatra and the severe heat conditions were the causes of his health disorders.

Four personal security guards of the CLP chief also suffered sun stroke at Deverapalli on Friday. Doctors administered them intravenous fluids.
